My research aims to apply theoretical and methodological advances in macroecology and functional ecology to conservation biology. I am particularly interested in understanding the distribution of different aspects of terrestrial and marine diversity, at multiple scales, with the goal to inform regional and global conservation efforts.
I am currently working as an FCT post-doctoral fellow associated with ‘Rui Nabeiro’ Biodiversity Chair at the University of Évora and the BIOCHANGE lab at the CSIC National Museum of Natural Sciences in Madrid.
My current research project aims at providing new and efficient tools to reduce (or at least take better into account) the uncertainty related to bioclimate model projections. To this aim I am jointly collaborating with Miguel B. Araújo, head of the BIOCHANGE lab and holder of the ‘Rui Nabeiro’ Biodiversity Chair, Alexandre Diniz-Filho, and Thiago Rangel from the Theoretical Ecology Group at the Federal University of Goiás in Brazil.
