Luis Sousa

I’m a MSc in Conservation Biology by the University of Évora with the thesis: “Conservation of Mediterranean temporary ponds under agricultural usage: an evaluation using amphibians”. My main interests are the ecology and conservation of amphibians and their habitats, namely the Priority Habitat for Conservation 3170*- Mediterranean temporary ponds. As a hobby I enjoy to identify and photograph all the biodiversity of Portugal. Previously I got a scholarship in the project LIFE+ “Conservation of temporary ponds in the Southwest Coast of Portugal” were I was responsible for the sampling of amphibians and gave support in many other parts of the Project. Currently I have a scholarship at the Project “LIFE LINES– Linear Infrastructure Networks with Ecological Solutions” were I’m responsible for the sampling of amphibians and the development and implementation of mitigation measures on roads for this group. Also I will give support in many other parts of the Project.
